The Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai Visits SLUAF

On May 9, Zhao Rongshan, Vice President of our University, met with Park Sun Won, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, Cho Sung Hee, Consul of the Republic of Korea, and 2 others at Songjiang Campus. Wang Caixing, Chairman of Shanghai Taekwondo Association (STA), Zhang Zhiming, Executive Vice Chairman of STA, Yao Yimei, Secretary-General of STA, and relevant personnel from the Office of International Exchange and the School of Physical Education and Health of our University attended the meeting.

Zhao Rongshanbriefed the guests on the operation of our University, the international exchange with the colleges and universities in South Korea, and the featured sports of our University. He remarked that, "this year would see the 90th anniversary of our University, which was praised as the matrix of China’s modern accounting education and the cradle of future financiers in its history." He also talked about the “combination of education and sport”, and said that the fencing of the University had long enjoyed a good reputation, and was a university included in the pilot programme by Shanghai Professional Fencing Team for the reform in the combination of sport and education. Its Taekwondo team is one of Shanghai's high-level sports teams.

Park Sun Won showed special interest in the history and features of our University, and hoped that in the future the cooperation with the colleges, universities, and enterprises in South Korea could be enhanced to promote the exchange between China and South Korea in culture and sports.

Park Sun Won and accompanying personnel visited the China Accounting Museum and the Chinese Accounting Hall of Fame. Then they watched the training of the University’s taekwondo team, and spoke highly of the spirit embodied in “Lixin” (creditability), our University's motto, and our University’s integration of credit culture and the fighting spirit of sport, and looked forward to further exchange and cooperation between our University and the colleges, universities and institutions in South Korea.
