A New Start – Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance

Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance is established with the official statement announced by Shanghai Municipal Education Committee the founding conference held on the Songjiang campus on June 24, 2016. In the conference, the new university leadership is proclaimed as follows:

Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance is founded by merging Shanghai Lixin University of Commerce (SLUC) and Shanghai Finance University (SFU) in accordance with the national long-term planning of education and governmental approvals, and aims to serve the national policy of social and economic development and the “4+1 International Centers”(International Center of Economy, Finance, Trade and Shipping, plus Sci-tech Innovation Center) planning of Shanghai.

After the merger, the University has three campuses located in Songjiang, Pudong and Xuhui Districts within Shanghai. The number of enrolled full-time students reached 20,000, including over 1,000 international students; and more than 1,500 full-time faculty and staff members. Owing to the merging of SLUC and SFU, the University is a more competitive application-oriented and student-centered university featuring accounting and finance in China. The name of “Birthplace of Modern Accounting in China” and “Cradle of Future Financiers” will be carried forward and passed to future generations.
