Pre-requisites: Microeconomics

Content: This course will mainly introduce the generation; development and operation of money, credits and banking. The course mainly focuses on exploring the operating rules and relationships between money and finance. The structure and the context of monetary banking are based on money ,then gradually introduce the generating, development and the characteristics and forms of credits, and finance trading models and tools, the characteristics of bank and position of bank in financial market, trading action of all kinds of economic organizations in financial market, the price decision of financial products, adjustment action of central bank, monetary supplication theory; inflation and deflation; international finance system and movement rule of monetary in international business.   

International Finance (English Teaching)

Pre-requisites: Finance, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics

Content: This course is to introduce international finance theory,policy and practice, by especially focusing on the relationship of international monetary finance (movement of international money and international funds); basic rules of movement of international monetary and international funds; international payments, exchange rates of foreign currency, international reserve; international monetary system, movement of international monetary; international financial market and international financial organization.   

Financial Market (English Teaching)

Pre-requisites: Finance

Content: This course is to introduce the fundamental theory of financial market; operation system; interest rates system, exchange rate system; risk management system; security price system, methods of price decision of financial assets (monetary funds; foreign currency; risk assets, shares; bonds; futures and options); the development and reform trends of international financial market and Chinese financial market.

International Settlement (English Teaching)

Pre-requisites: International Finance, International Trade

Content: International settlement is a branch of international finance. The course introduces practice problems of international monetary movement from micro point of view; and explains note principles of international settlement; as well as basic methods of international settlement; Credits settlement; draft; promissory note; letter of Credits; money order; check and other financial tools and settlements.    

Commercial Banks

Pre-requisites: Finance

Content: This course is to introduce the theory of operation and management of commercial bank; management methods; commercial bank business, the development procedure of commercial bank, operation rule and duty of commercial bank, liability business; assets business; the middle business and some financial special business, assets and liability management of commercial bank; risk management and financial management.

English for Finance

Pre-requisites: College English, Finance

Content: This course is to introduce financial English articles, including economics; foreign currency market; capital market; derivate market; international trade; settlement system and accounting. It requires that students grasp about 3000 new professional words and know how to use them in finance. Understanding bank business in English and translation skills for Chinese and English is another purpose of this course.         

Financial Engineering    

Pre-requisites: Finance, Investment, Advanced Mathematics, Linearity Algebra, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Statistics

Content: The course introduces various types of derivative instruments, including futures, options, forwards, swap agreements and exotic options, with different underlying assets such as commodities, securities, government bonds, interest rates, foreign currencies, and indexes. The course introduces arbitrage strategy and calculation of various risk metrics, including Delta, Theta, Gamma, Anga, andRho, and relevant hedging strategies. The course introduces the derivation and application of Black-Scholes pricing model, discrete binomial model and finite difference model; introduces various modern pricing methods for interest rate derivative securities from normal stochastic process to lognormal stochastic process; introduces various options trading strategies including establishing alternative option portfolios, portfolio options, and analysis of option profits and losses, and the consideration of credit risk in pricing process. 

Financial Risks Management (Bilingual Teaching)

Pre-requisites: Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Commercial Banks, Financial Management 

Content: The course introduces financial risk management problems from banking industry and other industries. It focuses on risk measure and management and applications. The students will gain financial risk management knowledge after they finish the course.

Investment Banking

Pre-requisites: Commercial Banks, Financial Management

Content: This course introduces business, theories and management of investment banks. It includes eight parts: 1) Introduction to development, functions and main businesses of investment banks; 2) Introduction to securities underwriting business, including basic knowledge of securities issuance and underwriting. 3) Introduction to securities brokerage and trading business. 4) Introduction to investment fund business, including securities portfolio investment theory, operation and management of fund. 5) Introduction to merger business of investment banks, including motivations, risk and operations of mergers, leveraged buy outs, and counter merger operations. 6) Introduction to theories and operations related to venture capital. 7) Introduction to financial derivatives instruments, including operation principles, risk management and control. 8) Introduction to internal management and external supervision of investment management. 

Fixed Income Securities

Pre-requisites: Financial Market, Probability and Mathematical Statistics Analysis

Content: The course studies fixed income knowledge such as price conventions, coupon bond, zero-coupon bond, duration, convexity, interest rate term structure, bond with embedded option, interest rate futures, (MBS), interest rate options and swaps.

Futures and Option

Pre-requisites: Finance, Investment, Security Investment

Content: This course will systematically introduces the origin, characteristics and function of futures and option, interest futures; index futures; monetary futures; operation of all kinds of option trading; trading strategy and all kinds of location models of price; management of financial futures and financial option; international trading markets of futures and option. With the help of this course, students are expected to know more about futures and option.     

Project Valuation  

Pre-requisites: Finance, Accounting, Investment, Statistics

Content: This course is to study and master the basic theories and valuation methods in project valuation, including analyzing and assessing the investment project and mastering the origin, nature and effect of social security, know the type of social security system in different country, master the reason and means of the social security system’s reformation and knowing its moving pattern. This course aims at the social security system’s reformation of China, introducing its history, actuality and the reformation’s principle, goal and direction in order that students master the investment principle, direction and management mode of the social security fund, know the insufficiency of China social security fund’s investment management.

Financial Planning
Pre-requisites:Political Economics, Microeconomics, Finance
Content:Financial planning is a major required course of finance major (International Finance).The course mainly introduces two components: main finance product andinvestment tool, which is from monkey market, capital market, derivative market, personaland family finance market, the other finance market involved in gold and stamp; (ii) fundamentalmethods of financial planning, which comprises analysis and workout offinancial budget, evaluation of core product, fundamental theory and analysisskills financial planning. After fulfilling the course, students will acquaintthemselves with the income-risk character of main products and tools offinancial planning, master evaluation method of core product and financialstrategy of financial planning, know quantity income-risk analysis method aboutfinance product and investment tool, and the analysis method confirming the optimalfinancial product portfolio and capital portfolio under equilibrium. It willprovide a good foundation for students to further somemajor required courses, such as program of financial planning, Techniques andSkills for Financial Planning Analysis, synthetic practice of financialplanning Programs etc.

Techniques and Skills for Financial Planning Analysis

Pre-requisites: Investment, Financial Planning

Content: This course focuses on introducing the analysis of financial management methods and practical skills. It comprises three components: (i) Fundamental analysis, including macroeconomics analysis, industry analysis and company analysis; (ii) Technical analysis, introducing commonly used tools in technical analysis such as chart analysis, quantitative analysis, analysis of sentiment indicators and cycle analysis; (iii) Analysis of investor behavior, discussing investors’ behavior upon investment psychology, investment behavior and investment strategy. In addition to introducing financial analysis methods currently available in the world, this course keeps abreast of the rapid development of Chinese financial market, addresses on innovation of teaching and integrity of knowledge system, and most importantly it not only provides the analytical, conceptual, and empirical foundations of modern business finance, but also develops the tools and skills students need for their future career in financial industry.


Pre-requisites: Finance, Financial Management

Content: The course focuses on fundamental knowledge of securities. It includes securities categories, functions, distribution channel; etc. Investment is a subject of application. It’s an important part of finance. The aim of this course is to illustrate the basic knowledge of investment and financial tools, let our students know how to use these tools, bring up the ability of analyzing and solving financial problems, so as to supply the method and principle to financial problem. There are five parts in this course. The first part is the introduction and investment environment. It introduces the concept, object, securities dealing, security market, market validity, tax. The second part is modern investment theory, which introduces the choices of assembled asset, analyzing of assembled invest, free-risk debit and credit, CAPM, factor model, arbitrage model. The third part is about ordinary shares, and its characters ,finance analyzing , bonus discount model,dividend and lucre, investment management and evaluation of assembled asset. The forth part is about fix lucre security. It focuses on the types, fundamental of assessment for bond, bond analyzing and assembled bond asset management. The fifth part introduces some other investment, such as option, futures, and international investment.
