International Programs

Since 2006 the school has developed a “1+2+1”program with American Towson University (Founded in 1866, Towson University, Maryland, U.S.A. is one of the best regional public universities in the U.S.A.). This program aims to provide professionals of insurance mathematics and the risk management to meet the pressing needs of international human resources market. Students who participate in this project will study in TU in the second and third year. They will be awarded a bachelor degree from TU after completing the required courses and passing the examinations.

 

Shanghai Finance University and Towson University

Joint Degree Training Program (For Bachelor)

– Actuarial Science and Risk Management

 

Ⅰ. Goal

The joint degree program between Shanghai Finance University (SFU) and Towson University (TU) enables students in SFU to earn degrees from both two universities. The program is committed to an excellent education, whose goal is to lead graduates to a successful career.

Ⅱ. ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS

1.Candidate for admission must have at least average score of 70 out of 100 to be eligible to the Joint Program.

2.Students must score at least 70(70%)  in mathematics courses.

3.Students must demonstrate English Language proficiency by satisfying one of the following criteria:

□A minimum of TOEFL score – 500 (paper-based), 173 (computer-based), or 61(internet-based)

□A minimum of IELTS Exam score – 5.5

□A minimum of TU English Exam score – 4 in all Sections

Ⅲ .Years for completing the subject: 4

This joint program allows students finishing their first year at Shanghai Finance University to study Actuarial Science and Risk Management Program within Mathematics Department at Towson University for two years and then finish their forth year at Shanghai Finance University.

Ⅳ. Degree: Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Science

Upon completion all the degree requirements, students are then awarded a degree from both Towson University and Shanghai Finance University.
